Preview: E' noto che gli italiani conoscono poco l' Italia. Cioè, magari siamo stati ad Ibiza, e alle Canarie e ai Tropici, e i più fortunati pure alle Maldive; e conosciamo bene Amsterdam e Londra, e siamo stati a Parigi (e come si fa a dir male di Parigi?) e probabilmente anche nell' Est Europa (ai tempi in cui le calze costavan meno, a quel che mi pare di capire) - ma quando si tratta di chiederci se, non vivendoci, abbiam mai visitato città italiane, italianissime, come Vicenza, Mantova, Ravenna, Alessandria, bhe è allora che ci rendiamo conto che se non ci danno un motivo molto serio e molto pratico per andarci non le visiteremo mai e che è assai probabile che, pur vivendo in uno dei paesi artisticamente più belli del mondo, forse esauriremo il corso de la nostra terrestre vita senza averci mai messo il becco neppur una volta...
Morire senza avere visto Mantova è senz'altro possibile: però, è anche senz' altro stupido visto che ce la abbiamo in casa.
