Summary

Mulliniks-Beavers, known to his friends as Jimmy or Jimmy-Lee is considered by many of his peers as a true "craftsman" of words and music. Although, in his own words feels that his music "will never be a commercial success", it strikes a chord with almost everyone who hears him. James's ability to look at things, outside the box, gives him the unique perspective to take the road less traveled. His ballads, like "Hold me close Maria" written about a vivid dream, captivates everyone who has heard it. Then he turns on a dime and will write a Bluegrass burner based in part about his father, called "Straight 8 Buick".

His musical influences include everything from the deep rich harmonies of Southern Gospel, to Bill Monroe, Hank Thompson, B.W. Stevenson, Gene Vincent, and Roy Orbison, to name a few.Go to the detailed description

Description

James Mulliniks Beavers - Texas music, Texas sound, Texas soul

px;">James Mulliniks Beavers logoMulliniks-Beavers, known to his friends as Jimmy or Jimmy-Lee is considered by many of his peers as a true "craftsman" of words and music.

Stevenson, Gene Vincent, and Roy Orbison, to name a few. James shies away from the "formula writing"; he believes that a song is like a beautiful piece on woodwork, which sometimes may take days, months, to finish. Prolific, James is not, but when finished, after you hear the song, you walk away with the feeling that he just reached into your soul and wrote the song for and about only you.

Although, James doesn't perform as frequently as allot of us would like to see, his performances are always worth the wait. Within a minute, you'll feel like you sitting in his living room, and he's playing just for you. The musicians, in the past who have played with him, are as much fans as the audiences that come to listen. "Sinful Tunes" his freshman CD effort released in 2003, was a commercial success, and the song "Straight 8 Buick" has and still receives airplay today from the east to west coast 3 years after it's release.

But the wait is over. James is about to play a limited amount of dates this year, and is in the process of doing pre-production work on an anticipated second CD. Look for the release in June 2007

Sounds Like Sometimes like Bob Segar, that's what I've been told. I wish I come off sounding more gentle. I guess if I quit smoking and drinking, it might happen. Ya never know!!!
